Plantings

In cooperation with the Town, the Friends of Greenwich Point have planted dozens of trees and shrubs to enhance the Point's natural beauty and diversity. This on-going project is funded with membership dues and donations, with the actual plantings handled by employees of the Department of Parks & Recreation, Parks and Trees Division.

The entrance of the Park and parking lot islands have recently planted with wildlife friendly and habitat-appropriate trees, shrubs and other vegetation to replace undesirable and invasive species and to enhance the landscape. A birch grove near the old mansion site was also restored.

In addition the Friends of Greenwich Point supports the maintenance by the Old Greenwich Garden Club of the Butterfly Garden overlooking Eagle Pond.
